Peng HUANG, Ling TAO, Ming GU, Yong QUAN

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2018, Volume 12, Issue 3,   Pages 300-317 doi: 10.1007/s11709-018-0449-7

Abstract:

Gable roofs with overhangs (eaves) are the common constructions of low-rise buildings on the southeasternThe wind pressure distributions on gable roofs of low-rise buildings are investigated by a series ofwind tunnel tests which consist of 99 test cases with various roof pitches, height-depth ratios and width-depthThe block pressure coefficients and worst negative (block) pressure coefficients on different roof regionsThe effects of roof pitch, height-depth ratio, and width-depth ratio on the pressure coefficients of

Effects of green roof damping and configuration on structural seismic response

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering   Pages 1133-1144 doi: 10.1007/s11709-023-0959-9

Abstract: The soil of a green roof can serve as a damper to dissipate the energy generated by earthquakes or otherResults of preliminary analysis show that a green roof soil can increase localized damping by 2.5% underconducted on a three-story building in SAP2000 to monitor the structural behavior with and without a green roofThe increased damping in the green roof soil is beneficial to the structural performance, i.e., it reduces

Fragility assessment of wood sheathing panels and roof-to-wall connections subjected to wind loading

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2021, Volume 15, Issue 4,   Pages 867-876 doi: 10.1007/s11709-021-0745-5

Abstract: majority of the wind damage resulted from building envelope failure most typically due to the loss of the roofwith a focus on the roofs, fragility analysis can be used to estimate the probability of failure of a roofThus, this paper examines the fragility of specific types of nails, roof-to-wall (RW) connection detailsThe eight fragility models suggest that the safest roof sheathing (RS) is the 1.22 m × 1.22 m sheathing

Strategic Study of CAE 2001, Volume 3, Issue 4,   Pages 9-16

Abstract:

This paper gives a brief introduction of the longwall top coal caving (LTCC) method which has had a strong impact on China´s coal mining industry since 1980 s.Great contribution to LTCC has been made by Chinese experts including cavability assessment, overlying geological variations on support loading, geotechnological characterization, technique and process for increasing recovery, safety monitering and control, and design and manufacture of high capacity equipments. The future of LTCC method is also predicted.
